Giving a Hand-up not a Hand-out

Let’s celebrate being female!

Activities and events may have slowed down a little due to Covid restrictions and fears.  It is heart-warming to see how many organizations, brands and individuals are arranging emotionally uplifting events during the month of August.

We decided to take a different road.  A road where we would rather partner with an existing and proven organization.  A group who would extend a hand up to the needy in their community and not necessarily just offer handouts. As our ethos is empowering women what better way than to collaborate with Sisters Incorporated. An organization of many years standing. Where women are offered a helping hand when they need it most.

We at Balance Cape Town gave a lot of thought to what we wanted to do to celebrate Women’s Day. Do we run a sale? Do we organize a product promotion – or do we even launch a new product?

Supportive and Empowering – Wow! Just the right combination of goodness.

And so we decided to offer a bar of soap for every candle sold during August. There is a reason for our choice:

A candle is a symbol of light in the darkness especially individual life. Candles offer a sense of hope, faith, persistence, comfort, peace and love.

Soap is a symbol of a conscious decision to cleanse your life, beliefs and your past. Choosing to lose something negative or unpleasant about yourself or your life.

We feel the two are interlinked.  And to work with an organization who assist women and children in need – physically, emotionally and spiritually – wow what synergy!

So join hands with Balance Cape Town and Sisters Incorporated – purchase a candle from a Balance Cape Town distributer or from the online shop and know you will be offering a woman or a child somewhere in South Africa the opportunity to cleanse and heal.
